Nicolo Zaniolo is poised to depart Aston Villa at the conclusion of the season and return to Galatasaray, as his loan deal has not worked out.
According to Sabah, ‘the plan did not work’ for Galatasaray, who anticipated he would negotiate a permanent move to Villa Park.
According to the publication, Galatasaray signed Zaniolo with a focus on the Champions League and paid a high salary to acquire him, but the deal never panned out.
Thus, they permitted him to join Aston Villa on loan in the summer, with a €22.5 million buy option included in the deal.
That condition would have been invoked if the Italian had played at least 30 minutes in 80% of Aston Villa’s games this season, which he has not done.
He has played 29 games in all competitions for the Villans this season, but just 1010 minutes, and has only made the Premier League starting eleven seven times out of 23 appearances.
Thus, it looks that the agreement will not be made permanent, and he will return to Galatasaray, which will be disappointed to see this.
They had planned to make a huge sale of the player, but instead he will be returning, alongside a salary that the Turkish side had apparently also been wanting to get rid of.
