Tim Howard has stated that he believes West Ham manager David Moyes is a better manager than Sir Alex Ferguson, much to the amazement of The Mirror’s Thomas Bristow.
The former Manchester United and Everton goalkeeper worked for the current Hammers manager at Goodison Park.
Howard, 44, retired in 2021 after finishing his playing career in America.
He made exactly 700 appearances in his career, the majority of which were in the Premier League.
According to Bristow’s post on X, the former USA international told The Mirror (5 March) that David Moyes is the best manager. I spent almost a decade with him. He brought me to the football club, loved me and my teammates, cared about us, and we formed a family tie. We won a lot of games and had a couple successful cup campaigns, particularly in Europe. “Yes, David Moyes, brilliant.”
Tim Howard has high regard for West Ham manager David Moyes.
Howard’s praise for Moyes demonstrates his ability to manage and lead people.
Although some West Ham fans continue to distrust him, there is no doubt that he is a safe pair of hands for the team at the moment. After that, they are currently ranked seventh in the top flight table and may qualify for Europe again.
They have won their last two games in a row against Brentford and Everton, which has relieved some strain.
Moyes led the Hammers to the Europa Conference League title last year, and that moment will go down in history.
Howard will be well-versed in his management style, having worked under him for many years at Everton, and while claiming to be better than Sir Alex may be a stretch, he clearly respects his former manager.
