Good News: The Houston Texans Are The Favorites To Sign Top Experienced Player Form NFL

On March 13, a number of running backs, including New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley, will be available for free. A very sought-after running back will be pursued by the Houston Texans. Furthermore, it seems inevitable that Barkley will sign a contract with the Texans. Barkley will be able to choose which team best suits him to carry on with his career. However, the Texans have the best chance of acquiring Barkley at -200 according to DraftKings Sportsbook.

The two-time All-Pro running back would be a huge upgrade at the position for Houston. Over the course of his six seasons in the NFL, Barkley has amassed over 1,000 yards in rushing. He was 38 yards short of reaching the milestone in 2023. After completing his sixth season with the Giants, Barkley amassed 962 yards and six touchdowns through 247 rushes. Barkley also has the adaptable abilities required for the passing game. He hauled in 46 passes for 280 yards and four scores in the previous season. However, Jacobs will serve as a valuable backup should the Texans fail to get Barkley. Barkley and the former All-Pro running back are similar in every way. Jacobs, a running back with the Las Vegas Raiders, just finished a season in which he gained 805 yards on 233 carries and scored six touchdowns. Along with it, he recorded 37 receptions for 296 yards. Related: Will Jonathan Greenard Re-Sign if the Texans Don’t Franchise Tag Him? One of the top two running backs will be available to the Texans to choose from when they enter free agency. But Houston will have additional options to consider besides Barkley and Jacobs. Additionally scheduled to become unrestricted free agents are Tony Pollard (Dallas Cowboys), Derrick Henry (Tennessee Titans), and Austin Ekeler (Los Angeles Chargers). For Houston, re-signing Devin Singletary is another wise move. With a career-high 898 yards and four rushing touchdowns, Singletary led the Texans.
