Breaking News: Rams Just Confirm Signing The Youngest Experienced Star From NFL

It was proposed that the Los Angeles Rams target Austin Ekeler, who is scheduled to become a free agent for the first time in his NFL career, if they are looking for a running back who can support Kyren Williams in 2024.

Ekeler would gain by joining the Los Angeles Rams, according to Garrett Podell of CBS Sports, because he wouldn’t have to relocate and wouldn’t have to worry about becoming one of their best offensive players any longer.

Podell noted, “Ekeler could be a nice complement to head coach Sean McVay’s backfield as a receiver that could lighten Williams’ workload.” Williams is known for his punishing running style. “Williams and Ekeler would both benefit from that arrangement.”

Jim Harbaugh seems eager to re-sign Austin Ekeler to a new contract this summer a few weeks ago. To put it mildly, the Los Angeles Rams will be intrigued if they don’t succeed in doing so.

For the Los Angeles Rams, how might Austin Ekeler fit in?
Since Todd Gurley was in his prime, Sean McVay hasn’t had a dual-threat running back; Austin Ekeler might be able to fill that role. Austin Ekeler amassed 915 running yards and 722 receiving yards for 18 touchdowns (13 rushing, 5 receiving) in his finest season (2022).

Despite the fact that the Western Colorado graduate missed three games due to injuries, Ekeler is coming off a disappointing year in 2023 by his high standards, having amassed 628 running yards and 436 receiving yards for six touchdowns (five rushing, one receiving).

Kyren Williams, who just finished a successful sophomore campaign with 1,144 running yards, 206 receiving yards, and 15 touchdowns (12 rushing, three receiving), will share responsibilities with Austin Ekeler. But because of injuries, Williams only appeared in 12 games; therefore, having someone like Ekeler on the roster would guarantee that the Los Angeles Rams wouldn’t miss a game if he missed them.

The Los Angeles Rams have approximately $43 million in cap space, which allows them to pay Austin Ekeler, who has made it obvious that he wants to get paid this summer. More importantly, though, Ekeler made the proper decision by signing with the Los Angeles Rams because they would provide him the opportunity to play for a Super Bowl contender.
