Good News: Just In Georgia Bulldogs Confirm Signing The Youngest Experienced Star

Eugene Hilton Jr. and James Coley are longtime friends.

Hilton Jr. has spent the most of his life with those two. Many people might not be aware of this, but his father Eugene Hilton Sr. is more commonly known as T.Y. Hilton, the renowned wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts. For nearly twenty years, the Hiltons have been acquainted with Georgia’s latest wide receivers coach.

Hilton Sr. was made an offer by Coley, the Florida International position coach. A similar interaction took place between Coley and Hilton Jr. during his first week of work at Georgia.

Yes, I have known him since I was a very small child. He is acquainted with my grandparents. He truly knows everyone in the family. The majority of my life, I’ve known him,” Hilton Jr. said to Dawgs247. It opened my eyes. My dad and I had a conversation, and we thought it was strange that the same individual who had offered him to me years later. As we conversed, he extended an offer to me. He’s actually a family friend, so that was strange.”

Though not entirely new, Hilton Jr.’s interest in Georgia is just now beginning to get traction.

The receiver from Zionsville, Indiana had originally intended to travel to Athens for the Ole Miss game during the season, but he was forced to change his plans. Hilton Jr. will visit Georgia for the first time next week when he goes to Pro Day and a spring practice on March 14 thanks to Coley’s repeated offer. Hilton Jr. stated that he is completely aware of the Georgia football culture.

He wants to see it for himself because of this.

Really, I’m looking forward to just seeing it. Hilton Jr. remarked, “I understand what their core values are—working hard and giving it your all. “But really just the culture and the environment, that’s really what I want to see going down there.”

Only a few programs are still being considered for Hilton Jr., including Georgia.

Ole Miss, Missouri, and Wisconsin are among the other schools involved. Hilton Jr. currently only has one booked official visit. He will spend the first official visit weekend of the window in Madison, Wisconsin, from May 31 to June 2. He intends to arrange a formal visit to Ole Miss at a later date.

Talks he has with Coley and other coaches on his visit to Athens next week will be crucial in determining what happens with Georgia moving forward.

Yes, we did have a brief conversation the other day. Next Thursday, I’m going to one of the practices to see what it’s all about,” stated Hilton Jr. “We will go from there since it’s my first time down there.”

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound receiver, who is ranked as the nation’s No. 60 wide receiver in the composite, is a 3-star prospect in the 247Sports recruiting rankings for the Class of 2025.
