You believed that the NFL season was finished? As the legendary Lee Corso once said, “Not so fast, my friend.”
The United Football League, a brand-new professional spring football league that unites the XFL and USFL into a single, cohesive organization, will make its debut in a few weeks. There will be a lot of former Bulldogs on the field this spring; the first game is set for March 20.
Ten weeks of play will culminate in conference championships on June 8 and 9, as well as a title game on June 16 for the eight-team league. A FOX or ESPN broadcast will be available for every game.
Georgia now has seven former Bulldogs scattered among three teams on their rosters. The DC Defenders could be the squad that Georgia supporters should root for. DC has the most ex Georgia players of any team with four.
Players from Georgia on UFL rosters
DC – D’Marcus Hayes – OL
DC – Dandre Baker, CB
Lamont Gaillard: DC, OL,
DE-DC Davin Bellamy
Toby Johnson, Houston, DL
Memphis’s John Atkins Sr., DL

In the 2017 season, Hayes, Baker, Gaillard, Bellamy, and Atkins were all a part of Georgia’s march to the Rose Bowl and a spot in the national championship. In 2018, Baker went on to earn the Jim Thorpe Award as the best defensive back in the country.
