According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, running back Saquon Barkley is “probably leaving” the New York Giants in free agency.
According to Russini:
It’s predicted—sorry, Giants supporters—that Saquon Barkley will probably be moving out of New York, even though he has always loved the Big Blue. Several teams wanting to sign quarterbacks on rookie contracts are vying for the 27-year-old. There are additional NFC East teams that are hiding.
Keep an eye out: With cap room available, the Patriots, Texans, and Commanders are all anticipated to make significant deals when the opportunity for tampering opens.
Overnight, there was also a movement in the DraftKings Sportsbook odds for Barkley’s next team. They are listed in the following order:
Chicago Bears (+200, probability 33.3%)
Texans in Houston (+250, 28.6% probability)
Philadelphia Eagles (+350, probability of 22.2%)
Chargers of Los Angeles (+450, 18.2% probability)
Cowboys of Dallas (+650, 13.3% probability)
Giants (+1400, 6.7% chance) vs. Baltimore Ravens (+650, 13.3% chance)
Thus, it seems likely that Barkley has played his final game for the Giants. Given that the free agency negotiation window opens at noon ET, we should know soon.
