Jameis Winston won’t be the backup quarterback for the New Orleans Saints the following season. He became a member of the Cleveland Browns.
According to Nick Underhill, Nathan Peterman, a seasoned quarterback, is being signed by the Saints to fight for the backup position.
The other quarterbacks on the team are Jake Haener, drafted in the fourth round in 2023, and Derek Carr. Though we are aware of his special role, Taysom Hill will also play some snaps at quarterback.
Peterman played with the Chicago Bears for the previous two seasons, starting one game in 2022.
Alongside Peterman during those seasons, Andrew Janocko, the coach of the New Saints quarterbacks, occupied the same position on the Bears staff.
