Jerrry and the Cowboys applied the full-court press to OBJ just over a year ago, only to discover during his late 2022 season visit to Dallas that his knee was still not fully functional. Last spring, he joined with the Baltimore Ravens and was useful enough, totaling.

He’s saying “goodbye” to the Ravens now, and he’s reportedly being courted by Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs.
The Fish Report and the Fish Podcast analyze Dallas’s “need” to make a trade. That’s not our usual stance… but it might be argued that this is an unusual time for the Cowboys, who are losing players to free agency and don’t appear ready or able to do much about it.

Had Dallas not traded for Brandin Cooks last spring, Jerry might have “gone for it” with Beckham. Is OBJ now filling a “position of need?” Or is the “need,” fueled in part by the somber cloud of this week’s goodbyes to Tyron Smith and Leighton Vander Esch, simply positive momentum?
