They’ve secured the services of several key players, including Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans, Antoine Winfield Jr., Lavonte David, and Chase McLaughlin, ensuring their roster remains formidable for the upcoming season.

Alongside retaining these talents, the Buccaneers have also been proactive in bolstering their squad with new signings.

Among these moves, the recent acquisition of strong safety Jordan Whitehead on a two-year, $9 million contract stands out, along with the additions of offensive guard Sua Opeta and center Ben Bredeson on one-year deals valued at $1.4 million and $3.5 million, respectively.

However, the Buccaneers didn’t stop there. Their latest move saw them sign former New York Jets cornerback Bryce Hall to a one-year contract.

This move, first reported by Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, adds depth to the team’s defensive roster, particularly following the departure of starting cornerback Carlton Davis III to the Detroit Lions at the onset of free agency.

Bryce Hall’s arrival in Tampa Bay could prove to be a significant asset. Despite being selected by the Jets in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL draft, Hall has showcased promising talent, particularly in his sophomore season where he emerged as a key starter for the Jets.

Although his performance has been inconsistent, with fluctuations in his play over the past two seasons, Hall’s potential remains evident.

At just 26 years old, he has yet to reach the peak of his career, suggesting there’s room for growth and improvement.

Looking ahead to the 2024 season, Hall is expected to serve as a backup to Zyon McCollum in the Buccaneers’ cornerback lineup, alongside Jamel Dean and Christian Izien.

While his role may initially be as a reserve, Hall has the opportunity to make a significant impact, providing valuable depth and competition within the team’s defensive unit.

As Tampa Bay continues to solidify its roster for the challenges ahead, the addition of Bryce Hall adds another layer of talent and potential to an already impressive lineup.
