With Jalen Green leading the way, the Houston Rockets overcame a 101-100 deficit to overcome the Utah Jazz in the third quarter after trailing the Jazz the entire first half.
Green continued to have a great game as he led the Rockets to their 11th consecutive victory with 34 points, 30 of which came after halftime, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals.
Along with Green, the Rockets also saw significant performances from Amen Thompson (18 points, 14 boards, 5 assists, and 2 steals), Fred VanVleet (22 points and 6 assists), and Jabari Smith Jr. (14 points and 5 rebounds).
The Rockets shot only 38.5 percent from the field and 13 of 42 from three, but they made up for the shooting deficit in the second half by turning up the defense and forcing 20 turnovers from Utah that led to 11 more chances from the field. 46.3% of the Jazz’s shots from the floor were made.
John Collins, who ended with 30 points and 11 rebounds, and Collin Sexton, who finished with 29 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, were their leaders.
The Rockets are now 38-35 on the season after winning 11 straight games, but they are still one game behind the Golden State Warriors, who have won three straight with Houston right on their tail.
Houston will play at home against the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday in an attempt to win 12 games in a row. They have today off.
