The 2024 season is expected to be even better for the New Orleans Saints than the one they experienced in 2023. The Saints had an unimpressive season and didn’t seem like the club they aspired to be, despite finishing 9-8 and tied for the best record in the NFC South. The squad has been working hard this summer in an effort to make adjustments that will result in more victories.
Even if that process is still in progress, New Orleans can already count on a few things. In particular, there are a few Saints players that are universally expected to do well.
Chris Olave, the wide receiver, should keep improving, Alvin Kamara, the offensive coordinator under Klint Kubiak, should be even more effective, and Marshon Lattimore, provided thatHe is a member of the team and will play excellent cornerback.
For the Saints, there are a lot of unknowns despite the certainty of those things. The upside of the unexpected is that it can leave you feeling pleasantly pleased. A few players in New Orleans have the potential to be pleasant surprises in 2024. Let’s examine each of those three players.
Security At the conclusion of his rookie season the previous year, Jordan Howden was given the chance to take the lead. Thankfully, Howden took full advantage of that chance. Throughout his 16 games, Howden started seven of them. He finished with 43 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, and five pass deflections. He will now have the chance to develop from a bright young player into a defensive standout.
The sole safety change made by New Orleans since the dismissal of veteran safety Marcus Maye at the beginning of the offseason was the re-signing of Jonathan Abram, who was a reliable depth player the previous year. The Saints appear prepared for Howden to play safety alongside Tyrann Mathieu.
