JUST IN: Bills Signed veteran Wide Receiver On One-Year Agreement Worth $3 Million

The first few days of free agency have seen little action from the Buffalo Bills. Their actions have been to either increase depth or keep their own players.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Bills came to terms with veteran wide receiver Mack Hollins on Wednesday, continuing the trend. The one-year agreement may be worth up to $3 million. The 2024 cap hit may be less than $3 million because the base value has not been disclosed.

According to Spotac.com, Hollins signed a one-year contract worth $2.5 million to play for the Atlanta Falcons last season. With the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022, Hollins had his greatest season ever, setting career highs in receiving yards (690), touchdowns (4), and catches (57).

Bills sign WR Mack Hollins & LB Nicholas Morrow to one-year deals

He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles and played for the Miami Dolphins in 2019, 2020, and 2021.

Hollins stands 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 220 pounds. After Gabe Davis, Deonte Harty, and Trent Sherfield left the team, the Bills had a lot of voids at wide receiver. Hollins is a versatile wide receiver who specializes in playing on special teams.

This week, Davis became the first well-known free agent to sign a contract with a team for three years and $39 million when he was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Sherfield and Harty are still available, but in an effort to save cap space, the team cut Harty last week.

Hollins most likely lines up behind Khalil Shakir and Stefon Diggs in the receiver room’s back end. With their eleventh round draft selections next month, the Bills are anticipated to select one or more receivers.

With a Falcons offense that struggled in the passing game, Hollins’ output declined the previous season and he was unable to secure a regular spot in the lineup. Kirk Cousins, who agreed to a deal earlier this week, is joining them as they rebuild after Arthur Smith was dismissed at the end of the season. Last season, Hollins had 18 catches for 251 yards. With three straight seasons of at least 45 yards in receptions, he has shown to be a reliable deep threat.A 65-yard reception with the Dolphins in 2021 marked the pinnacle of his career.
