Former LSU basketball player Angel Reese and Panini America announced a multiyear relationship on Wednesday. The company added that trading cards and other memorabilia signed by Reese were part of the unique partnership. Financial details regarding the sale were refused by a spokesman.
For Monday’s WNBA Draft, Reese is getting ready. She is predicted to go to the Chicago Sky, who currently have the No. 3 choice in the draft, at No. 8 in ESPN’s most recent mock draft. Following her selection by a team on draft night, Panini revealed that Reese’s first consumer product will be a Panini Instant card.
Panini America’s senior vice president of marketing and athlete relations, Jason Howarth, said in a statement, “Angel is an amazing talent and an electric player, and we are excited to welcome her to the Panini family as an exclusive athlete.”
After losing to Iowa in the Elite Eight of this year’s tournament, Reese’s LSU squad upset Caitlin Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes to capture the 2023 national championship. At the conclusion of her four years in college, Reese averaged 18.6 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per contest.
