The Bulldogs have entered the offseason after Georgia’s annual 2024 GDay spring scrimmage, which concluded spring camp this year. Now that the spring transfer portal window has opened, Georgia is being impacted. Andrew Paul, a running back, has logged into the transfer website.
Paul, who was a member of Georgia’s 2022 recruiting class, had a great rookie season before he tore his ACL, which prevented him from playing. After overcoming an injury, he finished the previous season with 29 carries for 129 yards and a touchdown. Paul ran for 44 yards on four attempts and scored a touchdown at this year’s GDay game, which was a strong performance.
Paul is unfortunate because Georgia’s running back room is loaded this year with the return of Trevor Etienne, the incoming Roderick Robinson, the nearly recovered Branson Robinson, and three running backs from the 2024 class.
The webpage claimed a long list of Georgia players as soon as the 2023 college football season concluded. In order to expand their roster, they also acquired eight commitments in total via the portal. Georgia will likely lose players to the portal now that the spring window is open, but they should also be on the lookout for any possible acquisitions they want to make before the 2024 season officially begins.
During spring practice, athletes can gauge their position on the depth chart and the kinds of opportunities they anticipate in the autumn. The room may simply be too deep in certain cases. As it has become an inevitable aspect of college football, the Bulldogs are accustomed to having their names taken away during the spring window.
