It has been formally revealed by the Miami Dolphins that former New York Giants linebacker Cam Brown has signed. The Giants selected 26-year-old Brown, a Penn State product, in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL draft. Throughout his 60 game career, he recorded three quarterback hits, two forced fumbles, and 35 tackles—24 of which were solo.
A free agency, Cam Brown was signed by the Miami Dolphins as an unrestricted signee from the New York Giants special team. Before settling into a full-time role on special teams, 26-year-old Brown, who was selected in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL draft, had limited action at linebacker early in his career. Brown has played for the Giants and the Pittsburgh Steelers before joining this current squad. With the NFL season approaching, the Dolphins are still rearranging their roster.
Brown produced most of his work on special teams, earning the coaching staff’s constant appreciation. But Brown knew his time in East Rutherford was up after special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey was fired on Black Monday. Pro Football Focus gave Brown a special teams rating of 65.3 in 2023. Brown finished second on the team with five tackles (Carter Coughlin, 9). He finished the team in fourth place in 2022 with a ST grade of 71.5.
