On Saturday, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers declared that they had signed Myron Mitchell, an American wide receiver.  Mitchell, a six-foot-one, 180-pound Alabama-Birmingham native who was born in Jasper, Alabama on June 17, 1998, has joined the Blue Bombers after playing for the Birmingham Stallions the previous season. After Mitchell was moved to the Stallions after being originally signed by the Michigan Panthers, he played in 10 games for Birmingham, helping them win the USFL title for the second time in a row. Mitchell caught 15 receptions for 138 yards and one score.

After signing his first professional contract in May 2021 as an undrafted free agent, Mitchell played in just one game for the Minnesota Vikings, spending the most of the season on the practice squad. He was released in late August of 2022.  After spending his first two years of college at Butler Community College (2016–17), he transferred to UAB (2019–20), where he caught 63 passes for 990 yards and seven touchdowns in addition to handling punt and kickoff returns. American defensive lineman Nate Givhan has been placed on the retired list by the Bombers, they also revealed.
