After suffering an injury at Grimsby, Jacob Mendy recuperated and started the away game against Colchester United a few weeks later. But Mendy only played for a little more than 30 minutes before being replaced due to yet another injury. Parkinson has now informed The Leader that Mendy, the international player from Gambia, would have surgery. We haven’t seen Mendy since.
Parkinson believes that this is the best course of action given that Mendy is undergoing surgery in the hopes of being prepared for preseason training.
Parkinson declared, “There will be an operation for Jacob.” “We have already been promoted, so that is a benefit of having an injury like that. He can now complete his rehabilitation during the summer, with the goal of recovering entirely. While it goes without saying that nobody enjoys getting hurt, Kevin Mulholland and his group are making a lot of effort to find a solution.
This implies that, barring an opportunity for Callum McFadzean to impress, James McClean will probably continue at left wing back.
