The Royals fell short against fellow survivors Burton 3-2 on Saturday after securing their League One safety the previous weekend. Wing scored once again, this time with a magnificent free-kick to bring his League One goal total to ten. “It’s disheartening; we intended to perform for our many traveling supporters and end on a high note, but that didn’t work out,” Wing remarked.
With something to play for, I thought they had a somewhat stronger desire than we had, and today that desire was evident.

“We were relieved to tie the score and regain control of the game, but regrettably, they scored again a few minutes later.”Although it’s good to score, I would have preferred to end with three points away from home. I’m more upset with the outcome.

When you have a lot of confidence, scoring goals comes easily to you and is not something you consider. Of course, it’s good to have a new objective, and perhaps I can stick with it. Wing wants the fans to be able to celebrate the end of the season, therefore he is now concentrating on the Royals’ final match of the season, when they will visit Blackpool.

He went on: “After taking a few days off, we’re going back to work to get ready for Blackpool. They have a lot to gain from this game, which is sure to be huge. In order for us to rejoice, we want to wrap up the season with our fans at home.Though clearly things did not turn out that way, I wish we had been aiming for promotion this year.

“I’m excited for the game. It would be more of a friendly if we were facing a team that had nothing to lose, but Blackpool’s run for the play-offs makes it intriguing and all to play for. As they have been during the entire season, the fans turned out in large numbers today. Next week, it would be wonderful to give them a victory and then celebrate.
