Devin Carter, a wide receiver out of West Virginia University, signed an undrafted free agency contract with the Carolina Panthers on Saturday night. Carter played for WVU for one season, where he ended with two touchdowns and a team-high 501 yards through 27 receptions. In the season opener against Penn State, he hauled in a season-high six receptions for 90 yards, and at Houston, he recorded a career-high 116 receiving yards.
The Clayton, North Carolina, native played five seasons at North Carolina State before moving on to West Virginia. During that time, he caught 118 receptions for 1,906 yards and 10 touchdowns.
He set a career-best seven receptions as a redshirt junior against Wake Forest and recorded a career-high 140 receiving yards against Boston College as a redshirt freshman. 12 touchdowns and 2,407 yards from 144 receptions were Carter’s final college stats.
