The Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese said that she has been in communication with Caleb Williams, the quarterback for the Chicago Bears, over their impending meeting in an interview with Kaitlin Sharkey of WGN-TV.
According to Reese, she and Caleb both hailed from the same region. He assured me he would attend the game on Tuesday. Regarding her WNBA preseason matchup with the New York Liberty on May 7, Reese is speaking. Reese said, “being able to have respect for both men and women.” Their attendance at our games is guaranteed. They have games that we are going to see. the mere ability to make Chicago more vibrant.
We are unsure of Reese’s first chance to watch Williams play at home because the 2024 NFL game schedules have not yet been made public. The Bears and Houston Texans are set to square off in the 2024 Hall of Fame Game on August 1, although the match will take place in Canton. Ohio.
However, Reese might manage to watch Williams in Ohio given that the WNBA is taking a month-long hiatus from July 18 to August 14 due to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. She can wait till his next home games, though. Reese stated that “one of my good friends are best friends with [Caleb] that are in my friend group” in an interview with NBC Chicago on May 1. After he was drafted, [Caleb and I] spoke. I’m not sure when he’ll be here, but we’re all going to hang out,” the former standout player from LSU continued. We’re going to hang out since we’re cool, and my friend is coming down. Thus, I’m thrilled.
In Chicago Right Now, Rookies Are Everything
The Chicago sports teams have signed a number of well-known rookies in the last several weeks. In the WNBA Draft on April 15, the Chicago Sky selected Kamilla Cardoso with the third overall pick, followed by Reese with the seventh pick. Brynna Maxwell of Gonzaga was also chosen, going in at number 13 overall. Williams was taken by the Bears with the first overall choice on April 25, followed by former University of Washington receiver Rome Odunze with the ninth pick in the NFL Draft. Not to add that April saw the third Rookie of the Month award for Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard, the first overall choice in the 2023 NHL Draft. As of right now, DraftKings has Bedard as a -2,000 favorite to win the 2023–24 Calder Trophy, which is awarded to the best rookie in the NHL.
This Season, Will The Sky Be Successful?
Sky supporters are optimistic about the season due to the entrance of Reese and Kamilla Cardoso, her former opponent who is now a teammate. Chicago’s record from the previous season was 18–22. They had a good away record of 11-9, but their home record was merely 7-13. The Sky failed to win their opening preseason match. Reese, however, demonstrated that she is prepared for the WNBA by scoring 13 points, pulling down 9 rebounds, adding 2 steals, and blocking 1 shot in just 24 minutes. She did, however, also commit five personal fouls in the 92-81 defeat, which a fan using an iPhone in the stands broadcast.
