Michael Craig, a midfielder for Reading FC, has been connected to Portsmouth, a recently promoted Championship team, in the summer.
After winning League One with 97 points at the end of the 2023–24 season, Pompey made their much anticipated return to the Championship. Football Insider reports that John Mousinho’s team is interested in signing Craig and will surely want to bolster their roster over the summer.
Prior to making his first-team debut this season, Craig played for the under-21 squad while playing for the Royals after leaving Tottenham Hotspur in June 2022. In all competitions, the 21-year-old defensive midfielder appeared in 36 games, including 28 league games. Craig had a difficult time getting regular playing time at the end of the season despite his strong performances throughout. This was because manager Ruben Selles decided to combine Lewis Wing centrally with rookie midfielder Ben Elliott.
