A prospective summer transfer for Aiden McGinlay is being watched by Ipswich, Norwich, and Celtic.
Even though McGinlay hasn’t made his senior debut yet, he has drawn attention due to his youthful promise.
To perhaps benefit from McGinlay’s future development, clubs are thinking about signing him now for a reduced fee.
An eye on Queen’s Park midfielder Aiden McGinlay ahead of the summer transfer window is being kept by Ipswich Town and Norwich City.

Celtic is reportedly one of the clubs expressing interest in the 17-year-old, according to a report from The Daily Record. McGinlay signed with Partick Thistle, a team in the Scottish Championship, only the previous summer, and he never made the transfer to Queen’s Park. Still, it appears that his performances there were sufficient to draw some noteworthy attention from other sources.

Before moving from Partick to Queen’s Park, McGinlay was on trial with Ipswich last summer, according to this most recent report. Apparently, following his previous tryout with the Tractor Boys, there was no attempt to take him to Portman Road.

It is currently believed, though, that Ipswich has been monitoring McGinlay’s development this season and may make a bid for the teenager this summer. They are not alone in their interest, though, as a number of English teams are also interested in the midfield player, including their local rivals Norwich City.

It’s also said that Celtic, the Scottish champions, have expressed interest in a possible trade for McGinlay. Partick Thistle would now be entitled to a larger compensation pay from Queen’s Park than he would have if he had stayed there last summer, considering he has only been at the club for a little over a year.

Naturally, Ipswich has had a tremendous season, earning promotions back-to-back after being second in the Championship. They are currently getting ready to make their first Premier League appearance in more than 20 years as a result.

McGinlay might be a future star.
It seems like this could be someone to keep an eye on in the upcoming months. Obviously, it is difficult to think that, should McGinlay sign with any of three teams—Ipswich, Norwich, or Celtic—he would immediately be thrust into the starting lineup. Considering his lack of senior experience in any capacity, the adolescent would undoubtedly find that to be an excessive leap.
