It has been confirmed by Wrexham AFC that teenage defender Scott Butler will be leaving the Club at the conclusion of the season due to contract expiration.
The decision about Butler’s future was postponed until after his productive loan stint with Marine, as was stated when the retained/released list was made public earlier this month.
Last weekend, Butler and Marine successfully completed their loan stint by being promoted to the National League North.
The 21-year-old Butler began his junior career at Wrexham before moving on to Swansea City and coming back in the 2022–2023 campaign. He played for Wrexham Red Dragons at TST last summer and made his senior debut in the FA Trophy in January 2023. He was on loan to Nantwich Town at the beginning of the 2023–24 season. prior to relocating to Marine in January, when he assisted them in winning the Liverpool Senior Cup and earning a promotion.
