Additional injury updates were provided by Wagner, who stated: “Grant Hanley is likely to return next week in order to get ready for Swansea. Next week, we will have additional information on Dimi (Giannoulis).
In last week’s 1-0 victory over Preston North End at Deepdale, Jonathan Rowe made his comeback to the team and played 17 minutes. He had a fantastic week and is having no troubles thus far this week. On Saturday, he’ll be back in the mix. He missed two and a half to three months of work, therefore he is not currently prepared to begin. His impact has been demonstrated, therefore it’s wonderful to have him back. His start date will become closer with one more training week coming up next week.”
Wagner commented on the performance of the clubs surrounding Norwich City, saying: “I don’t care what the other teams do as long as we win. This will also be our goal on Saturday. Everyone is aware that Bristol has been playing well over the past five games. From what I’ve observed, they seem like a very motivated club that puts in a lot of work. I wouldn’t be shocked if they were considered for the playoffs the next year.
“The players’ hunger and drive for more is evident in training and the locker room. Keeping the pedal to the metal makes sense given the confidence and the mood at home during the last few games. I believe that 71 points will not be sufficient to secure a play-off spot and a chance to advance, and this is the current situation.
This is our attitude: it’s simply another game we play at home to try to score three points. It’s thrilling since the season is almost over. We are eagerly awaiting Saturday.” The head coach responded to a question concerning Ashley Barnes’ play this season by saying, “Barnes is a good tactical player who you can rely on to do something with the ball and fight for it.” When you pass the white line, you have this mindset and this ambition. He is a popular follower, which is why I adore having him on the squad.”
