A few high-impact injuries are currently being treated in St. Louis. As expected, the St. Louis Cardinals’ 2024 campaign hasn’t gotten off to the best start for them.
Inconsistent to put it mildly, has been St. Louis. Although the offense has suffered a significant setback, the Cardinals’ starting rotation is in a stronger position than it was the previous year. Despite not performing as well as anticipated, the Cardinals’ offensive has shown significant improvement. Willson Contreras was the Cardinals’ best offensive player by far, but he was unlucky to sustain a fluke accident that resulted in a shattered arm after Martinez’s swing struck him.
The Cardinals regret greatly that Contreras is losing time, but according to John Denton of MLB.com, he has achieved his first recovery milestone and taken off his cast. Cardinals (catcher) Willson Contreras, who broke the ulna bone in his left forearm on May 7, is out of a cast,” Denton told reporters. In the hopes that the doctors will let him to use his right hand to bat (the top hand), he is working on his conditioning. Three days following surgery, he claimed to have removed the cast.”
With six home runs, twelve RBIs, and a slicing pace, the three-time All-Star was having an incredible start to the season.31 games played, 280/.398/.551. Although it’s encouraging to learn that he has already taken off his cast, there is still a long way to go before he plays again for the Cardinals. Despite winning four of its past five games, St. Louis has begun to turn things around, but there is still much work to be done.
