After taking first place in the NFC East the previous season and losing badly at home to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, the Dallas Cowboys are expecting big things for the 2024 campaign.
Dak Prescott Had a Purpose. By 2023
Dak Prescott, the quarterback for the Cowboys, had a fantastic year in 2023, placing second in the NFL MVP voting and throwing 36 touchdowns, a league high. However, a lot of Cowboy supporters have expressed a desire to let go of their star quarterback after the team failed to make a lasting impression in the postseason once more. This might change come playoff time.
Prescott is about to enter the final year of his contract.
Signed in March 2021, the 30-year-old quarterback is about to enter the final year of his four-year contract. No new agreement appears to be in the works. Prescott will probably not be on the team in 2025 if he does not sign a contract by the start of the next season, and one NFL pundit has already set up a replacement for the star quarterback.
Dallas Cowboys Uncover a New Talent
The 2025 CBS Mock Draft Chris Trapasso has the Cowboys selecting quarterback Donovan Smith of Houston at pick number 25, which is a bit early. According to Trapasso, “Every year, one unexpected quarterback vaults himself into the Round 1 conversation.” Smith is currently my choice. Standing at 6′ 5 and weighing 240 pounds, He has the right appearance. In addition, he is mobile and possesses a respectable arm. Smith began his professional career in 2020 with Texas Tech and moved to Houston in 2023. Last season, he passed for 2,801 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions.
