Elieser Hernandez, a right-hander, was signed by the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday to a major league one-year contract as a free agency. Hernandez, 29, was declared for assignment by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday and subsequently removed from their 40-man roster. Rather than accept his Triple-A assignment, he opted for free agency. This season, in five games (one start), he was 0-1 with an 8.38 ERA, three walks, and six strikeouts in 9⅔ innings for the Dodgers.

Partially six seasons with the Dodgers (2024) and Miami Marlins (2018–22), Hernandez is 10-22 over 95 games (49 starts), with a 5.15 ERA, 97 walks, and 283 strikeouts in 297⅓ innings. Meeker, 29, made one appearance with the Brewers in a game and gave up one hit and one walk in one inning without giving up any runs.

The 25-year-old Hall has not pitched for the Brewers since he was hurt on April 20 while fielding a bunt. On May 23, while beginning a rehab stint for Nashville, he injured his knee once more. According to the team, Hall underwent an MRI on May 27 and saw Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles on June 6. [Hall] sought a second opinion,” Pat Murphy, manager of the Brewers, stated on Friday. “He chose to start with the basic assessment and work his way up. He has resumed his participation in our recovery program.”

According to a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article, Murphy claimed that ElAttrache suggested a non-surgical alternative—a platelet rich plasma injection—that would have prevented him from returning to work until September. Hall will continue his recovery with the Brewers instead. In his first season with Milwaukee, Hall is 0-1 with a 7.71 ERA, 10 walks, and 13 strikeouts in 16⅓ innings over four starts. In 29 games (one start) with the Baltimore Orioles in 2022–2023 he was 4-1 with a 4.36 ERA.
