Today, WR Tee Higgins was re-signed by the Bengals for a single season. The team selected Higgins, a fifth-year veteran, their designated franchise player on February 26. Higgins signed a one-year tender for the 2024 campaign.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor stated, “I’m excited to move forward with Tee.” We are glad to have him back in the fold so we can start preparing for a fantastic 2024 season. He has handled his circumstances admirably. His return will be greatly welcomed by the locker room. Higgins, who was selected by the Bengals in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, has started 53 of his 58 career regular-season games. Including back-to-back 1000-yard seasons in 2021 and 2022, he has caught 257 receptions for 3684 yards and 24 touchdowns.
In his first four career seasons, he has the fourth-highest total of receptions of any Bengals player; his receiving yardage and receiving touchdowns are tied for sixth place. In addition, Higgins has participated in seven postseason games for Cincinnati, making six starts. With his contributions, the team made it to the AFC Championship Game in 2022 and Super Bowl LVI in 2021. In terms of receiving yards (457) as well as receptions (31) he is second in Bengals postseason history.
