NFL franchise announced on Monday that running back Ricky Person Jr. of the Birmingham Stallions has signed with the Seattle Seahawks.

For Birmingham in the 2024 regular season, Person ran for 297 yards and a league-high six touchdowns on 93 carries in nine games. The Stallions defeated the San Antonio Brahmas 25-0 in the United Football League Championship Game on June 16 and he gained 102 yards on 13 rushing attempts. The 2023 USFL title was won by Birmingham with the assistance of Person. He ran for 122 yards on 16 carries in the Stallions’ two postseason triumphs, after having only 83 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries in the team’s four regular-season games.

Person is the second 2024 Stallions player to sign a contract with an NFL franchise. The arrival of defensive end Dondrea Tillman from Birmingham was announced by the Denver Broncos on Thursday. Two of the Seahawks’ running backs who rushed for over 50 yards in the previous campaign will be back in 2024. In 2023, Zach Charbonnet rushed for 462 yards and one score on 108 runs, trailing only Kenneth Walker III, who led Seattle with 905 yards and eight touchdowns on 219 rush attempts. The Seahawks are off for the summer. On July 17, the rookies from Seattle report to the Virginia Mason Athletic Center in Renton, Washington, for training camp. The seasoned players from Seattle are expected to report on July 23.

The Baltimore Ravens, who signed Person on May 6, 2022, as an undrafted rookie from North Carolina State, gave him another chance to play in the NFL. Individual was left off of the Ravens’ regular-season roster. The details of Person’s agreement with Seattle are still under wraps.
