According to reports, Monnapule Saleng, an Orlando Pirates star, is about to leave the team. This follows a remarkably lackluster 2023–24.
After an incredible season, Jose Riveiro confirm this player Saleng starting the previous season as a player to watch out for. Nevertheless, for the majority of the season, Patrick Maswanganyi and Relebohile Mofokeng were superior to the quick winger! Now, rumors have it that Saleng is leaving Mayfair early since he isn’t getting enough playing time!
Saleng connected to Orlando Pirates’ departure!
Saleng is one of the few players who are still anticipated to depart the team during the off-season. They are wrapping up a few loose ends and deciding what to do with him, an insider informed Soccer Laduma. it is currently thought that he is not part of the technical team’s plans and that they would not simply hold onto him for the purpose of doing so. Since he is still bound by his contract, they are only considering whether to lend him money or to grant to his permanent release. However, it is thought that he is one of the players who will be leaving the team this year.
Whether it will occur before or after the trip to Spain is something I am unsure of. In other news, Jose Riveiro, the Spanish head coach, and the Orlando Pirates have resumed talks. After joining the Buccaneers in 2022, the 46-year-old strategist has had remarkable success in his first two seasons with the team. Orlando Pirates won the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup twice in a row with the assistance of Jose Riveiro. The DStv Premiership is one area where he has failed. Jose performed much worse than Mamelodi Sundowns in both seasons due to his inability to compete with them. Although his performances in the CAF Champions League have also been lacking, the club is fully supporting him to succeed!
Jose is being pushed for three more years by the Pirates!
“They wish to hire Jose (Riveiro) as soon as possible to avoid losing him. They do not wish for the same situation to occur as that of Ruud Krool, who chose not to extend his contract following his treble victory, an insider told Soccer Laduma. Since the coach is now on vacation, I can’t say that the deal is finalized just yet, but he is happy at Orlando Pirates and the team has extended an offer to him for a further three years. I’m not sure what will prevent this offer or proposition from being made, therefore.
Saleng should quit the Orlando Pirates.
