The 20-year-old midfielder for Wales, Jordan James, has officially moved from Birmingham City to Rennes, as both clubs have declared. According to reports, Les Rouge et Noir made an offer of €5 million to the League One team, which they accepted. Following the agreement on personal terms, James got his medical with his newest club early Monday morning. After Abdelhamid Aït Boudlal, Albert Gronbaek, Glen Kamara, Leo Ostigard, and Hans Hateboer, the adaptable 20-year-old midfielder is Rennes’ sixth summer transfer acquisition.

With Enzo Le Fée leaving for Roma and questions hanging over Benjamin Bourigeaud’s future in Brittany, Rennes needed a midfield player. James played 105 games for Birmingham City before leaving the team. For the Blues, the eleven-time Wales international had ten goals and two assists. He and Stade Rennais have inked a four-year contract. With Les Rouge et Noir visiting Olympique Lyonnais in the opening gameweek of the Ligue 1 season on Sunday, James might make his Rennes debut.
