Before Birmingham City welcomes Wrexham to St Andrew’s on Monday night, they have announced a significant new collaboration with the world’s largest airline, Delta Airlines. Blues’ official airline partner for the 2024–2025 season will be Delta, marking the latest move by Knighthead Capital to elevate the team among England’s elite in the years to come.
Since Knighthead joined the team more than a year ago, Blues have regularly landed eye-catching sponsorship deals with companies like Undefeated, who support the team’s jerseys. They have also revealed very exciting plans to invest billions of dollars in a brand-new Sports Quarter, which will house the team by the end of the decade.
Delta Airlines, estimated to be valued almost $11 billion and with revenue of $59 billion as of May 2024, has joined Blues as their newest global partner. This partnership is projected to greatly boost Blues’ revenue streams even further. “We are thrilled to have Delta join the Blues family,” stated Tom Wagner. “Delta’s extensive network will enable us to engage with our overseas fan bases and elevate both them and our club to new heights as we continue to use all of our resources to introduce Birmingham City to a worldwide audience. Delta shares our mission to lift the club, alongside elite companies like Nike and UNDEFEATED. We are entering a pivotal period in our nearly 150-year existence with this.
CEO Garry Cook continued, “Delta is one of the world’s leading brands.” “Keep Climbing,” Delta’s rallying cry, is a fitting reflection of Birmingham City’s current path. Over the next five years, Blues is going to be one of the most fascinating football tales. Our teams are only beginning a journey of transformation. Leading international brands are eager to partner with us because of the value we can bring; our owners are leading one of the largest infrastructure projects in the nation, the Sports Quarter, here in East Birmingham; and our charitable Foundation is currently helping hundreds of thousands of people throughout the city start to enjoy better lives.
