Against the Falcons, the Chargers will be without linebacker Denzel Perryman, safety Alohi Gilman, and cornerback Cam Hart. Four players have been officially declared out for the Chargers’ Sunday game against the Falcons, while one more player has been designated as questionable.
This week’s absences of running back J.K. Dobbins, linebacker Denzel Pereryman, safety Alohi Gilman, and cornerback Cam Hart will further weaken the Chargers’ defensive line. Perryman’s groin issue from Week 11 against the Bengals will keep him out of action for the second straight game. Prior to the team’s most recent game against the Ravens, Hart aggravated an ankle ailment, which is also why he is missing his second game.
The team’s roster changes earlier this week make more sense now that Gilman is healthy. The team claimed safety Marcus Maye from the Dolphins’ waivers and added veteran Tony Jefferson to the active roster. The Chargers would be quite short at linebacker if he missed this week, so it will be important to keep a careful eye on his status leading up to game day. Henley is the team’s only questionable player this week. The only players on the Chargers’ active roster after him are Shaquille Quarterman, Troy Dye, and Nick Niemann. The team’s practice squad only has one off-ball linebacker, Jeremiah Jean-Baptiste.
