The January transfer window is very close and many new faces are expected to move to Premier League. Chelsea FC are set to have another busy window. But this time, it seems the Blues are more focused on selling than signings.
The Blues are doing really well at the moment in all competitions. Enzo Maresca has list of regular starters ready. The Italian is known for taking bold decisions and hence will make many players available in the market for sale.
One of the exit linked star is Ben Chilwell who the club wanted to sell in summer. Chilwell’s departure will open up space and the Blues will like to fill it with signing a young star. They had many players on radar to fill the left back position.
One of their targets is Danish star Patrick Dorgu. Dorgu is 20 years old and plays for Leece. He is highly versatile and can play anywhere on the left side. In addition, he can play as right winger which earns him title of offensive fullback.
Chelsea to miss out on Dorgu in January
Journalist Nicolo Schira has tweeted an important update regarding Dorgu. He has tweeted the response of Leece general manager Pantaleo Corvino who said that Dorgu will definately stay in the January transfer window.
This may come as a big blow for Chelsea who would have loved to replace Chilwell with Dorgu. But on the positive side, the Blues do have a great squad depth. They are expected to be fine without a new left back if their current stars stay injury free.
Along with the Blues, their Premier League rivals Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have also shown interest in Dorgu. The 20 year old seems like a perfect fit for the Red Devils due to their new manager Ruben Amorim. Amorim uses 3-4-3 formation where Dorgu can get a big role to play as a wing-back.
