Evan Sidery of Forbes has been reporting for weeks that the Sacramento Kings are trying to transfer their highly regarded point guard, De’Aaron Fox. Jaden Ivey, Tobias Harris, a future first-round selection, and a future second-round pick are all acquired by the Kings. In terms of money, Detroit would need to match Fox’s projected earnings of $34.84 million this season and $37 million the next year.

With the same number of years remaining on his present contract, Harris will receive $25.36 million in 2024–2025 and 26.63 million in 2025–2026 before becoming a free agent in the summer of 2026. Ivey has a three-year contract that will pay him $7.97 million this season and an additional $2–$3 million over the next two campaigns, the latter of which will be a qualifying offer of $13w.4 million.

With Fox, Detroit might defeat the best teams in the East in the playoffs.
The money works as a result. By signing Fox, the Pistons could accelerate their rise. The Kentucky product is shooting 48.8 percent from outside the arc this season and averaging 26.6 points per game, 6.1 assists per game, 5.1 rebounds per game, and 1.6 steals per game.

Fox would provide Detroit with a dynamic star who can dominate the open court, pick up speed for the fledgling team, and perform well in the closing minutes, something that very few players in the NBA can do.

Fox is also able to play more leisurely. He knows how to go by defenses in the half-court and owns one of the Association’s most dependable floaters. The 27-year-old’s age, durability, and present armament are all very good. He and Cunningham have the potential to become the NBA’s top backcourt for at least ten years. The Pistons would only need a powerful bench scorer and a three-and-d combo forward to seriously intimidate the top teams in the East. In the Fox mock trade, the Kings would also prevail on numerous fronts.

Sacramento would receive a promising young point guard in Ivey, who was maturing and living up to his ranking as the fifth overall choice in the 2022 NBA Draft. Ivey averaged 17.6 points per game, 4.1 rebounds per game, and four assists per game while shooting 40.9 percent from three-point range and 46 percent from the field. On a more seasoned, interior-focused squad in Sac-town, they would also inherit a gifted scorer in Harris who might complement Domantas Sabonis and DeMar DeRozan. The cherry on top for the Kings is the addition of two alluring future selections.
