The Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes outperformed Josh Allen of the Bills in the most recent episode of their developing rivalry.

Kansas will now advance to play the Baltimore Ravens, who are seeded #1, in the Super Bowl this year.

Despite the fact that this is Mahomes’ sixth consecutive AFC Championship Game since he started playing in 2018, one concerning statistic about Allen could be crucial in his next game.

No quarterback has ever defeated Allen in the postseason and gone on to win their following playoff game, according to sources.

The Houston Texans were destroyed 51-31 by the Chiefs in the Divisional Round of the 2019 NFL Draft, following their victory over Allen and the Bills.

The Chiefs defeated Allen in 2020, but their following game in Super Bowl LV saw them fall to Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.

After defeating Allen’s Bills the previous season, the Chiefs found themselves in a bind once more. In the AFC Championship Game, they were defeated by the Cincinnati Bengals in overtime, 27-24.

The Bengals defeated the Bills in the Divisional Round of the 2022 AFC Championship, however they fell to Kansas City 23–20 in the championship game.

Over their seven career meetings, Mahomes now holds a 4-3 advantage over Allen.

Mahomes has won all three of their postseason games, while Allen is 3-1 against them in regular season matchups.

Following the most recent triumph, Mahomes remarked, “Every time I go up against Josh (Allen), I know it’s going to come down to the end.”

However, Mahomes will need to outperform Lamar Jackson, another outstanding quarterback, in order to break the infamous Josh Allen curse.

Mahomes is excited about the challenge as this will be the first-ever meeting between former MVP quarterbacks under the age of thirty.

Regarding the proximity of some of his games to the top signal callers in the NFL, he stated: “[It’s the] same with Joe (Burrow) and Lamar (Jackson).”

“I am aware of their firepower. They will persevere until the very end. You value those kinds of things.”

During the Mahomes era, the Chiefs have always had the privilege of hosting the AFC Championship at home. However, this year, that will not be the case as they will now have to go to Baltimore as the Ravens have earned the top seed.

Mahomes remarked before the game, “I love being at Arrowhead.”

“I enjoy performing in front of that audience at Arrowhead. On the road, however, it’s you against them. It’s you against every single person in the stadium, and you need to unite as a team and let guys do their thing. That was evident in today’s game.”
