Miami Dolphins Confirm Signing This veteran Star Player For…..

Jordan Poyer, a veteran safety with the Buffalo Bills, has agreed to a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins, meaning he will remain in the AFC East.  Poyer was released by the Bills on Friday in advance of the cap crunch, since they were scheduled to hit free agency after the cap. Poyer was cut along with running back Nyheim Hines, receiver Deonte Harty, cornerbacks Siran Neal and Tre’Davious White, and center Mitch Morse.

He’s also the most recent ex-Bill to move on. According to reports, receiver Gabe Davis has agreed to a three-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and outside linebacker Leonard Floyd has agreed to a two-year agreement with the San Francisco 49ers.
Poyer spent the majority of his time at Orchard Park as one of the better safeties in football after joining the Bills in 2017.

He has 22 interceptions, 48 passes defensed, 8 caused fumbles, 11 sacks, and 682 tackles in seven seasons with Buffalo. 2023 saw a minor decline in his output as he forced only one fumble and registered zero interceptions. In the previous season, Poyer recorded 100 tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss, and two quarterback hits.

Poyer, who arrived in Buffalo with safety Micah Hyde and head coach Sean McDermott in 2017, was one of the more adored Bills, having contributed to the team’s culture shift. When the Bills face the Dolphins at least twice in the upcoming season, that adoration will fade anytime he’s on the opposing bench, but his influence will still be recognized as having been significant.
