It has been revealed by CITY manager Chris Hughton that Anthony Pilkington and Robert Snodgrass will miss several weeks of action due to injuries.
In the meeting last Saturday against Newcastle, Snodgrass did not play at all. Pilkington was replaced just after halftime due to a hamstring problem sustained by the Ireland winger after a collision by Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.
Hughton made the following statement during the Club’s Annual General Meeting: “Anthony’s scan revealed a grade two strain, which typically indicates five or six weeks out.
“Robert hurt his knee during the first training session on Friday after returning from his Scotland international duty. We thought it would settle down, so he went to Newcastle with us.
He might miss a few weeks, but not as long as Anthony, because regrettably it didn’t.
Concerned about other players, the Canary manager responded to a question from shareholders by saying that he hoped Ricky van Wolfswinkel would be back in action by the mid-December Swansea match, but that the team would be without Mark Bunn (ankle) for four weeks, Alex Tettey (ankle) until the end of January, and Elliott Bennett (cruciate ligament) until at least the end of February.
