After sustaining an ankle injury against the Cincinnati Bengals that left many fans clutching their breath, quarterback Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens is adamant that he is fine.
Lamar Jackson, the great quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, gave fans everywhere a scare when he went down with an ankle injury near the conclusion of the first quarter in a 34-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Jackson went on to complete the game 16-for-26 for 264 yards and two touchdowns despite the injury. He also added 54 rushing yards. After the game, he adamantly stated that his ankle wouldn’t be an issue.
Jackson declared, “I’m good.” “I’m fine, let’s get over this ankle conversation. You see, I’m OK; I just walked up here.
I’m fine, we’re not going to speak or talk nothing into existence.”
This season, Jackson has guided Baltimore to an 8-3 record while playing at a level most weeks that would earn him MVP consideration. In addition to running for 535 yards and five scores this year, he has completed 2,441 yards of passing with 12 touchdowns and just five interceptions.
For the Ravens on Thursday Night Football, Jackson’s ankle injury wasn’t the only one. Tight end Mark Andrews was stopped by a Bengals defender after catching a pass in the red zone for nine yards during the opening drive of the game. Following the tackle, Andrews instantly reached for his ankle and finally hobbled off the field. His ankle injury would ruin his season, it was confirmed after the game.
Jackson and the Ravens agreed to a five-year, $260 million contract extension on draft night, just before the season began, following a protracted and intense negotiation process. After a significant hit, it is sense that Baltimore supporters would be anxious to see their franchise quarterback limping up, but after the game, Jackson gave an update on his status for Week 12.
Jackson declared, “I’m feeling good.” “Coach gave us a few days off, extra days off, so I’ll be good for the Chargers.”
On Sunday Night Football, Nov. 26 at 8:20 p.m., the Ravens will travel to Los Angeles to play the Chargers.
