Adams plays an important role on special teams. Adams only played 97 defensive snaps for the Browns during the previous season, but he played 435 special teams snaps (85%). During his first season in 2018 with the Colts, Adams played the most defensive snaps of his career (215). In every one of his six NFL seasons, he has participated in at least 61% of the special teams snaps.

In 2021 and 2023, Adams was named a Pro Football Focus first-team All-Pro for his play on special teams.

The Giants added veteran defensive tackle Jordan Phillips earlier this week. Additionally, within the previous several weeks, they have added depth players like wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie and cornerback Darnay Holmes.
