former defensive tackle Jordan Phillips of the Buffalo Bills has signed with the New York Giants. Playing with the Bills, Miami Dolphins, and Arizona Cardinals, Phillips, who is 31 years old, has fashioned out a solid NFL career.
The Dolphins selected Phillips in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, and he started off as a starter defensive tackle before seeing his role decline in 2018. The Bills claimed Phillips after he was waived shortly afterward.
During his first posting in Orchard Park, New York, Phillips left a profound and instant impression. Because of his zeal and vigor in confronting the Bills Mafia, he became a fan favorite. Phillips participated in 28 games, starting nine of them.
prior to agreeing to a big free-agent deal with the Arizona Cardinals in 2020. He had career-highs in 2019 with 9.5 sacks, 31 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and 16 quarterback hits for Buffalo.
Due to injuries sustained during his brief spell in Arizona, Phillips had multiple periods of time spent on Injured Reserve. Phillips was released after just two seasons and re-signed with Buffalo. Throughout the 2022 and 2023 NFL seasons, Phillips was a member of the Bills, starting ten of his 26 games overall. His time on the field was continually cut short by injuries, and he was never able to recapture the incredible form of the 2019 season.
