JUST IN: As Promotion Is Secured, Phil Parkinson Says Wrexham Players Will Now Need……

Although Phil Parkinson and company have two League Two games remaining, Wrexham has been promoted to League One. The season isn’t nearly ended yet, despite the fact that it may have gotten lost in the promotion celebration since last Saturday. A 6-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers last week effectively ended Wrexham’s tenure, and at this point, there isn’t much more to gain.

With Stockport County officially named champions, Wrexham is unable to win League Two, and though promotion is secured, a matchup with Mansfield Town for second place may not be of utmost importance.

But this Saturday, Phil Parkinson will lead his team to Crewe Alexandra, supported by Wrexham supporters hoping for one last fantastic away day before returning to League One. Parkinson still has two injured players on his roster, so maybe he’ll experiment with his lineup on Saturday afternoon.

On Jacob Mendy, Phil Parkinson

After suffering an injury at Grimsby, Jacob Mendy recuperated and started the away game against Colchester United a few weeks later. But Mendy only played for a little more than 30 minutes before being replaced due to yet another injury. Parkinson has now informed The Leader that Mendy, the international player from Gambia, would have surgery. We haven’t seen Mendy since.

Parkinson believes that this is the best course of action given that Mendy is undergoing surgery in the hopes of being prepared for preseason training.

Parkinson declared, “There will be an operation for Jacob.” “We have already been promoted, so that is a benefit of having an injury like that. He can now complete his rehabilitation during the summer, with the goal of recovering entirely. While it goes without saying that nobody enjoys getting hurt, Kevin Mulholland and his group are making a lot of effort to find a solution.

This implies that, barring an opportunity for Callum McFadzean to impress, James McClean will probably continue at left wing back.

Parkinson in relation to James Jones

James Jones, a midfielder, has not played since the team’s 1-0 victory over Notts County in February. He is also sidelined. Parkinson must have been extremely annoyed by the Scot’s absence from play after he had a hamstring injury. Parkinson is no longer able to switch up his engine room because Jones, who has four goals in 23 League One appearances this season, is not playing.

Jones may make a comeback for the final game of the season against Stockport, according to Parkinson, but Wrexham won’t take any chances with him because there aren’t any major games left to play.

James and I can now just take our time with him, even if he is growing closer. We’ll evaluate him and see how he performs this week, and he might have an opportunity for the final game of the season. But for now, we don’t need to take a chance with him,” he continued.

Jones might have fresh opposition in the summer, so seeing him play again before the season finishes would be a welcome lift. After missing months of action, Jones may need to show that he can contribute in League One as Wrexham looks to add midfielders this summer.
