JUST IN: Phil Parkinson reveal this statement that this top major striker could break this record against….

Wrexham wants to finish the season strong by defeating Stockport County this afternoon, and Paul Mullin wants to break a record held only by Alan Shearer. This Saturday lunchtime at noon is the League Two season finale between Wrexham and Stockport County. Although County won the championship a few weeks ago, the two teams cantered to promotion, but this match still has a lot on the line.

Alan Shearer calls Harry Kane 'the best' and tells him 'he deserves success'... with the striker set to miss out on surpassing the Newcastle icon's Premier League scoring record | Daily Mail

With three goals against the champions, Phil Parkinson’s team would tie Luton Town’s 62 home goals from the 2017–18 season, setting a six-year record for most goals scored in League Two.
Ollie Palmer, on the other hand, is driven by manager Dave Challinor’s earlier remarks after they defeated Wrexham to win the National League in 2022.

Paul Mullin, who has the opportunity to equal an incredible feat this afternoon, is another Reds forward who is particularly motivated by the fixture in addition to Palmer.

After Paul Mullin scored 32 goals in a single season for Cambridge United, Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds signed him in July 2021. By the end of his fourth season, the Liverpudlian can join elite company having established himself as a goal-scoring machine at the Racecourse Ground. The first player since Alan Shearer to score at least 25 goals in four straight seasons in the top five divisions of English football will be Mullin, should he score against Stockport.

Mullin can overtake the great strikers Thierry Henry and Harry Kane, who combined to score 25 goals or more for three seasons at Arsenal and Tottenham, this afternoon. It’s amazing that Mullin is currently level with them.

By developing into a goal-scoring machine towards the conclusion of the season, Mullin has given himself an opportunity to match Shearer’s stellar record. After scoring 10 goals in his first 25 league games, the 29-year-old has now scored an amazing 14 goals in his past 12 games.

Mullin’s rise to become an unstoppable force and Parkinson’s team’s purple streak of play that resulted in promotion came at the same time that Mullin can cement his name even further into Wrexham legend if he can match Shearer’s record this afternoon.
