The League One Team of the Season includes Lewis Wing, a midfielder for Reading FC, who has drawn attention with his play this season. Wing signed with the Royals after leaving Wycombe Wanderers in the summer of last year, despite Queens Park Rangers and other Championship teams showing interest in him. With 10 goals and eight assists in League One during the 2023–24 season, the 28-year-old has given Royals supporters a number of outstanding displays.
Among players in England’s top four divisions, Wing has the best long-range shooting record with seven of his ten goals coming from outside the box. Wing garnered a huge majority of the voting from supporters to be crowned Reading’s player of the season as well.
