This top major sensational cornerback securing his talented skills with the Tigers will be the best decision on……

Several organizations are soliciting Hughes’ services as he begins a series of visits following his April entry into the Transfer Portal. In the NCAA Transfer Portal, LSU cornerback Jeremiah Hughes has been a sought-after target as he continues to work through his process.

Since becoming available as a free agent, Hughes, a sophomore defensive back who appeared in 13 games for the Bayou Bengals in 2023, has already visited UCLA. He’s currently committed to two trips: Washington and Colorado. Hughes’ schedule of visits was initially revealed by 247Sports.

Popular LSU Football Cornerback Transfer Jeremiah Hughes Locks in Pair of Visits

Encountering scenes from the show with Deion Sanders and company, the former Tiger is currently in Boulder as part of a visit with the Colorado Buffs. The past few months have been busy for Hughes. Following his arrival at Baton Rouge and his notable snap totals as a true freshman, it was anticipated that the young player would advance to the position of second team cornerback for the 2024 campaign.

However, under new secondary coach Corey Raymond, Hughes appeared to be passed over on the depth chart by a number of players during spring ball, including true freshman PJ Woodland. At cornerback, Woodland and the superb sophomore Ashton Stamps had first team reps, while Javien Toviano, Jyaire Brown, and JK Johnson dominated much of the second team snaps during camp.

Taking third team reps and sitting five spots above of him on the depth chart, Hughes decided to use the NCAA Transfer Portal in order to potentially take big reps at his future school.

The former Bishop Gorman standout has excellent skill, and once he settles into his new position as a cornerback after spending the majority of his prep career as a wide receiver, he’ll provide his new program of choice with terrific reps. He has now officially visited UCLA and Colorado, and as he starts to narrow down his options, he will soon travel to Washington. During the spring window, Hughes was one of seven Tigers to pass through the portal:

The Flights (7): – EDGE WR Jaxon Howard and TE Khai Prean DB Connor Gilbreath Ryan Yaite

LB Jeremiah Hughes, CB, and Christian Braithwaite

– Joseph Cryer, OL

It was evident for LSU that this program would be changing this spring as Baton Rouge continues to rebuild its roster. Players were encouraged to disclose their intentions to leave if necessary during Phase 1’s spring exit sessions, which were intended to help them assess what the future held. As they try to increase the defensive line room, the primary focus will be on staying below the scholarship cap. With little room for maneuver, the Tigers have now started Phase 2: scheduling appointments with defensive lineman to establish themselves as a contender in that area.
