Will Lankshear named Premier League 2 Player of the Season - Cartilage Free Captain

Last season, Will Lankshear produced a lot.
Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Spurs, was under pressure this preseason to include academy attacker Will Lankshear, 19, in the first team’s preparations for the 2024–2025 campaign. After a promising start, Lankshear sustained an injury in his first season at Tottenham after joining from Sheffield United’s academy back in 2022. (London Football) The previous season saw the emergence of Lankshear and Tottenham’s Academy. Last season, the teenage forward participated in both the PL2 league and the play-offs, where Tottenham were declared champions. He scored 23 goals in as many games. (Markt Transfer)

Lankshear won PL2 Player of the Season because to his exceptional record, but the league didn’t give him the award alone. Just one year after the ex-Sheffield United forward’s initial contract, which expired in 2026, Tottenham extended an offer to the teenage player for a new five-year contract. (Hotspur, Tottenham) Sunderland and Hull City, two Championship teams, have already expressed interest in acquiring Lankshear. Both teams have a history of producing young English strikers, like as former Spurs winger Jack Clarke.

Since bad loans have affected the careers of two other promising youth attackers for Spurs, Dane Scarlett and Troy Parrot, Lanksehar’s next step needs to be carefully considered. Nonetheless, I think Lankshear might be unique from the other two. The 19-year-old’s skill set is better suited for a move into the men’s team because senior football may benefit from his clinical finishing and nimble movement. In addition, Lankshear is quite powerful and quick, which could help him adjust more easily to his first loan to an EFL team.
