Roman Wilson, a wide receiver, had what at first looked to be a terrifying injury. However, the Pittsburgh Steelers were fortunate in the outcome. Midway through Tuesday morning’s practice at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, the rookie for the Steelers had to be taken off the field. Wilson apparently suffered an ankle injury while Pittsburgh’s offense was working on a jet sweep.

Wilson was fortunate to leave largely unharmed, despite indicators of a potentially major injury. Wilson’s ankle ailment is regarded as “week-to-week,” and it is anticipated that he will recover completely in time for the Steelers’ preseason game. In the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, Wilson was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers from Michigan. The Wolverines, the defending national champions, had Wilson as their best receiving threat.

The 23-year-old is anticipated to carve out a role in his first season in Pittsburgh after making an impression thus far. George Pickens, the top wide receiver for the Steelers last season, has reportedly had disagreements with the coaching staff. It may not matter if Pickens stays Pittsburgh’s top wide receiver in the future; Wilson’s health could provide the team with more wideout depth this season.
