JUST IN: Dodgers plans to released this major star due to……..

Cavan Biggio, a utility player, was released by the LA Dodgers. It was earlier this week that Biggio was assigned. Freddie Freeman was placed on the family emergency list, so Biggio was DFA’d to make way for him. On August 5, he was back in the starting lineup. With his freedom, Biggio, 29, can pursue a variety of possibilities.

What Is Biggio’s Future Holding for the Dodgers After His Release?

He can be claimed off waivers as the Dodgers released him. But, should no team claim him, the Dodgers may send him to the lower leagues. However, Biggio can decline this option without giving up his pay because he has more than five years of Major League experience. Sadly, Biggio had difficulty making the most of his brief stay with the Dodgers. He was making cuts.192, 306, 329, and a.635 OPS. He will be paid the remaining amount of his 2024 contract if he is claimed off waivers by another team. Biggio’s salary for this season is $4.21 million. Biggio is an accomplished player with experience, yet it’s unclear if any team will select him.

Dodgers acquire utility man Cavan Biggio from Blue Jays - Los Angeles Times

He didn’t play every day last season, but he still made an offensive and defensive contribution to the Blue Jays. Compared to his 16 home runs in 2019, his performance in 2019 was incomparable. Biggio hasn’t been consistent overall, so a contending team won’t be likely to contemplate claiming him. But two legitimate clubs that might think about claiming him are the Miami Marlins and the Chicago White Sox. It is also possible that this will be done during the off-season.

It will be intriguing to watch where he goes on his future endeavors, which are still unknown. Will he find a new place to live where he can find constancy, or is this the end? He could definitely get more playing time if he could land a job with the Chicago White Sox. Many were undoubtedly shocked when Biggio was let go by the Toronto Blue Jays. However, he did not perform up to expectations with the Blue Jays this season. Given his inconsistent play, it is unlikely that he will go back to the minors, but perhaps he could look into this as a way to better himself.
