Manager Dave Roberts confirmed Sunday morning that River Ryan’s 2024 season is finished, though the Dodgers have not yet disclosed the precise diagnosis about his right elbow.

Ryan won’t pitch again this season, according to Roberts, who spoke with Ryan this morning but hadn’t yet spoken with the medical team before the series finale against the Pirates. Beyond that, he didn’t have all the specifics yet. Says Roberts, “It’s the elbow.” In order to determine the precise course of action, I believe they are awaiting additional scans. However, at present, I can declare that his season is ended. In the fifth inning of his scoreless start on Saturday, Ryan was lifted from the game with two outs, capitulating to an ailment that ultimately ended his season of success.
